Automotive Social and Photo Review Mobile App - Car Community, Ratings, and Location Sharing

A social mobile app for Android built around the car community. 'Daily Driver' lets users post photos of their cars, share their location, write reviews, and engage with other enthusiasts through likes and comments. Creating a social platform where vehicles are the content and car culture is the community.

The client wanted to build the car community's answer to Instagram: a photo-first social platform where the subject is always the vehicle, and where car enthusiasts could find, follow, and interact with others who share their passion.

Requirement

Car enthusiasts shared content across generic social platforms that weren't built for their community. Posts get lost in general feeds, discovery becomes random rather than interest-based, and there was no rating or review layer for the vehicles and builds being shared. The client wanted a dedicated space where cars were the focus and the community was built around them.

'Daily Driver' needed a photo-posting flow optimised for car photography, a location layer so users could share where they were - a car meet, a track day, a scenic route and a review - rating system that let the community evaluate and discuss specific vehicles and builds.

Solution

We built 'Daily Driver' as a native Android social app with car content at the centre. Users create a profile, post photos of their vehicles, tag their location on a map, and share to a community feed. Other users can like, comment, and leave reviews. The map layer turns the app into a location-aware community tool for finding car meets and events nearby.

  • Photo and image posting with car-focused content flow
  • Map integration for location sharing and geo-tagged posts
  • Review and rating system for vehicles and builds
  • Social feed with likes and comments
  • User profiles with post history and follower management
  • Push notifications for likes, comments, and new followers

Final Outcome

'Daily Driver' gave the car community a dedicated social platform where their content wasn't competing with unrelated posts. Car enthusiasts found their audience immediately because every user on the platform shared the same interest. The location and map layer made the app useful beyond social scrolling - users discovered nearby car meets and events through posts rather than searching event boards. The client launched a focused community app that gave car culture its own social home on Android.
