Requirement
The US food delivery market got dominated by 2 or 3 national apps that only operate in big metro areas. Customers in mid-sized cities were stuck calling restaurants directly or driving to pick up takeout. The client saw that gap and asked for a platform that could federate local delivery operators into one network.
The platform needed location-aware search (find restaurants near me), real-time ordering, and Google Maps integration so customers could see delivery zones and track orders.
Solution
We built a customer-facing web app on Angular that detects the user's location and surfaces every restaurant in range. Behind the scenes, each city ties to a local RDS partner that handles fulfilment. The customer experience is one platform, one checkout, one tracking view.
- Location-based restaurant discovery using the customer's address or device location
- Online ordering with cart and checkout flow
- Google Maps integration for delivery zones and order tracking
- Multi-city RDS partner network with regional fulfilment
- Time-saving search and reorder features
Angular handles the front-end, .Net Core and Web API run the order and routing logic, and Google Maps API powers location and zone detection.
Final Outcome
The platform launched with a working RDS network across multiple US cities. Customers in markets the big delivery apps ignore can finally order fresh local food online. Restaurants get a new digital channel without paying 30% commission to a national app. And the client owns the customer relationship, not a third-party platform.
